From this Tuesday the University Cultural Center (CCU) Rogelio Salmona de la U. de Caldas opened its doors to the public of the 16th International Image Festival - ISEA 2017, and in its warm interior full of geometric lines houses about 40 installations of artists Digital and electronic products from various countries around the world.
Between today, June 14th and until next Sunday, the entrance is free to the exhibition from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and there all Manizales and visitors will be able to interact with works of art that do not look like The conventional ones like paintings and sculptures, but they go beyond and use screens, cables, lights, tablets, projectors, sensors, robots, etc.
Walter Castañeda Marulanda, a professor in the Department of Visual Design at U. de Caldas, and coordinator of the exhibitions at ISEA2017, indicated that the works are distributed by different characteristics such as those that can be touched and perceived, others that are immersive because People enters a closed space and observes a video, animation, etc.
"It is also on the first floor the pavilion dedicated to France for the year Colombia France 2017, and are four large works of prestigious and completely immersive artists in which the visitors will have an incredible experience," said Walter Castañeda, Of the U of Caldas.
The emphasis of ISEA and the International Image Festival is electronic art, and that the exhibited works bring together various disciplines such as architecture, design, engineering, electronics, etc, so that knowledge and specific knowledge are crossed to open new Perspectives with innovative proposals.
During the opening ceremony of the show that was held yesterday at 9:00 pm, the Rector of the University of Caldas Felipe Cesar Londoño López, said that this event shows the potentiality of the CCU to become a space for multiple Occupations as a center of knowledge and science.
"In these exhibitions we are observing how scientists with artists are thinking about issues that have to do with the environment, water resources, land, and cultures, all of which is very focused on this great theme of bio-creation and peace that we have Proposed for ISEA and for the Festival of the Image, "said Felipe César Londoño, rector of the University of Caldas.
Ricardo Dal Farra, professor of music and media art at the Music Department of Concordia University (Canada) and member of the ISEA International Board, highlighted the quality of the works and invited everyone to visit the CCU.
"Having a space like this in Manizales is exceptional (...) and also the opportunity to have ISEA in Manizales and this exhibition here is not to be missed. Both for those who are interested in electronic art and for those who do not know and it would be interesting to see what it is and even with the boys, who are more enthusiastic about this than the big ones, "said Dal Farra.
